Well, (like most of us perhaps?) I couldn't
help but snoop at the contest FTP directory to
gather as much info on the other entries as
possible. I'll share some of the observations I
made.
: Over half of the entries were uploaded within
the final 8 hours before the deadline!
: From what I gathered, there is a total of 17
valid entries present.
: Several people did submit updates for their
entries.
: The entries range in size from around 100k to
over 3MBs.
: There is evidence that a lot of people
featured musical enhancement to their entries.
(Evidence of this ranges from names of music
packages being present in the files to entry
updates mysteriously increasing in size by
a megabyte.)
: One unfortunate entry was not uploaded in time.
The entry was uploaded 10 minutes too late. :(
Perhaps Rendition will be kind enough to
consider this entry as valid even though it was
"10 minutes late".
: Another person submited an update to their
entry ONE MINUTE after the deadline. "But but
my clock said 11:59!!". I'd hope that this
update like the entry above will be accepted.
: Does anyone know the purpose of the file
"autoexec.001"? Someone uploaded it several
hours after the deadline. :)
All in all, 17 entries are present. (18 if
the 10 minutes late entry is counted) This means
that roughly half of us will make the top 8.
(All of us will be getting T-shirts. :) My
advice to all those who entered is to continue
working on the entry for the next due date,
(May 8) and to not make sure to send an update
at least one day an advance in case something
bad happens. On May 4, we will find out who is
still in the game. :)
I hope I get to meet some of you at E3! (And I
mean that in a most selfish way. [grin])
